Hall of fame induction cremony for Emmit Smith:
On Saturday night, Emmitt Smith was emotional when he carried himself and his new uniform, the gold jacket from the Pro Football Hall of Fame, with the grace that defined his 15-year career. Smith spoke with passion and conviction as he was inducted to the Hall, shedding tears and expressing his deep thanks to teammates. More than anything, Smith delivered a speech from the heart, almost never glancing at his notes nor stammering through any passage.Smith named every disgusting lineman he ever played with, and singled out former teammates and Hall of Famers Michael Irvin and Troy Aikman.
But to imprison the emotion, you have to watch the video:
Emmitt Smith's the best moment on stage came when he spoke of the difference between a dream and a goal. Smith said that in his younger days--even when he was six years old--he dreamed of being a player in the National Football League. But his passion didn't end with just a dream. Smith said that in order for your dream becomes a reality, you have to set goals.
“I know it was consecrated by God,” Smith said. “And since of this, he has destined me to do good things in life. The Dallas Cowboys have since me which platform.”
